Salina is a town in Onondaga County, New York. The Town of Salina is northwest of Syracuse, New York and consists of five small suburban communities which are known as Mattydale, Liverpool, Lyncourt, Galeville and a portion of North Syracuse. Each community is an easy 5 minute commute to downtown Syracuse and within a 15 minute trip to the airport.
Liverpool is a delightful 2,600 resident community on the north shore of Onondaga Lake with unique shops, great restaurants and lovely lakeshore trails.
School District: Depending on where you live in the Town of Salina, your children will attend schools in one of the following districts - Liverpool, North Syracuse, Lyncourt or Syracuse City. Two private Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade schools (St. Daniel and St. Margaret) are in close proximity.
Shopping & Dining: A major shopping mall, Carousel Center, is within a 10 minute drive from all of the communities within the Town of Salina. Each community has local shops which provide the basic necessities required for every day living. Local restaurants include The Clam Bar, Hafner's, Mothers, Santangelo's, The Retreat and Heid's - the famous hot dog stand.
Parks/Lakes/Recreation: The Town of Salina Parks and Recreation Department sponsors recreational programs for people of all ages and for all seasons. These programs encompass eight parks (Burnham, Richfield, Duerr, Primrose, Sunflower, Wemesfelder, Sehr and Schaffer) which consist of over one hundred acres of land. In addition, the Town of Salina has four municipal swimming pools, one in each of the four wards, which provide recreational and learn-to-swim programs, seven days a week during the summer months.
