Syracuse NY named most affordable major housing market

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - You'll get more for your money if you're buying a house in Central New York, Realtors say.
The National Association of Home Builders names Syracuse the most major housing market.
It got the title because nearly 93 percent of all new and existing sold in the last quarter of 2014 were affordable to families earning the area's median income, which was about $67,700.
"It's really no surprise because, honestly, the average price is $140,000 in all of Onondaga County," said Realtor Robert McTague with Realty USA.
The most expensive housing market was, where just 11 percent of homes were affordable to an average family. The median income there is $100,400.
